Sprinklers Control Columbia, S.C. High-Rise Trash Chute Fire

4/4/7 - According to the State, Firefighters responded to a fire at a Columbia, S.C. high-rise, but a sprinkler system helped control the blaze. The fire that started in a trash chute around 7:50 p.m. was controlled when two sprinkler heads inside the chute activated and doused the flames, Columbia Fire Department Assistant Chief Aubrey Jenkins said. "It really did the job," Jenkins said. "It was a good thing."
