Fitters
Apprenticeship Training Series w/ Apprentice
Training DVDs
To assist fire sprinkler contractors in strengthening
their bottom line, the American Fire Sprinkler Association (AFSA)
offers an Apprenticeship Training Series — Levels I, II,
III & IV, an apprenticeship training
course for sprinkler fitters.
The Apprenticeship Training Series is a correspondence
course designed specifically for training apprentices in the
fire sprinkler installation trade. This practical training program,
written from a contractor’s
point of view, has been developed through combined efforts of technical
experts and AFSA contractor members.
Each level of the series includes photographs,
drawings and tables to provide the latest graphic as well as
written instruction on proper installation techniques and use
of tools. The levels are divided into modules. Each module includes
a series of lessons that cover a particular topic within the
scope of that module. Test materials are provided to allow student
testing on a periodic basis. Tests will then be forwarded to
AFSA headquarters for grading, and the company will be notified
of each student’s
test score.
This course is available in your choice of
paper or online testing. With online testing, you save money
on postage (no mailing tests for grading) and the process is
faster with no bubble sheets to complete. For security purposes,
you are strongly encouraged to request a proctor password be
set up to prevent the student from testing without proctor approval.
This is requested at the time you place your order.. The DVDs
are designed to provide additional audiovisual instruction that
reinforces skills learned in the Contren® Learning
Series.
Make AFSA Training Work For You!
AFSA’s Apprenticeship Training Course is approved by the U.S. Department
of Labor Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training and by State Apprenticeship
Committees in 75 percent of states. It fulfills the BAT requirement of 144
hours per year of technical and theoretical instruction, and it can easily
be expanded to fulfill requirements for additional hours if necessary to obtain
state approval.
