Bob
Caputo, CFPS, CET
Bob Caputo, CFPS, CET, splits his time between Fire & Life
Safety America, based in Richmond, VA, live seminars, and
his consulting practice. Bob is a primary member of the
NFPA 13 Installation and Discharge Committees, and the
NFPA 4 and NFPA 25 Committees. He is an internationally
known instructor for NFPA and AFSA on fire protection and
life safety systems. He is the author of many technical
papers and articles and a contributor to the NFPA Automatic
Sprinkler Systems Handbook (2013 Ed.). Bob has been a member
of the fire protection community for more than 30 years
and attended the University of Albuquerque New Mexico.
Ralph
Foster, III, P.E.
Ralph Foster is the principal of Foster Engineering and
Consulting and is a licensed Fire Protection Engineer
in multiple states. He earned his degree
in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina and is an NFPA
Certified Fire Inspector I and Certified Fire Plans Examiner. He worked
for over 20 years in the public sector conducting inspections and life safety
code analysis of buildings; analyzing active and passive fire suppression and
detection systems; has extensive experience with Performance Based Design. He
worked for the SC State Fire Marshal's Office for over 18 years where he served
as a Staff Engineer, Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal, Manager of Engineering
Services, and taught both state and national certification courses. He
is a member of SFPE, NFPA, ICC, and AFSA. He is active in the SC Fire Marshals
Association, the Central Savannah River Chapter of the SFPE and the SC Fire Sprinkler
Contractors Association. He retired from the SC
Army National Guard after serving for 28 years; is an
Assistant Scoutmaster with Troop 10; and resides in Columbia
with his son.
Kenneth W. Wagoner, CFPE, CFPS, SET
Ken is a 1977 graduate of Bethany College (KS), and owner
of Parsley Consulting,
located in Escondido, CA. He has 31 years of experience in automatic
sprinkler system and fire alarm system design, plan review, and construction
management. Wagoner has achieved NICET certification in the subfields
of automatic sprinkler system layout (IV), fire alarm systems (III) and
inspection & testing (III). He has earned NFPA certification as
a Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), and Fire Plan Examiner (CFPE). He
is an AFSA-designated alternate representative to the NFPA 1031 Committee (responsible
for the Standard for Professional Qualifications for Fire Inspectors
and Plan Examiners), and the Hanging and Bracing Committee of NFPA
13 (responsible for the Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems). He
is also chairman and a principal member of both the NFPA 24 Committee (responsible
for the Standard for the Installation of Private Fire Service
Mains) and the NFPA 291 Committee (Recommended Practice for Fire Flow Testing & Marking
of Hydrants), and a non-voting member of the NFPA 13 Technical Correlating
Committee. He has published numerous articles on seismic bracing, hydraulic
calculations, system design and the plan review process, has presented online
virtual seminars, and teaches classes sponsored by the San Diego Fire Protection
Association and the American Fire Sprinkler Association. He is an active
member of NFPA, AFSA, SCAFSA, and SDFPA.
Russ Leavitt, CFPS, SET
Russ is the Executive Chairman of Telgian Corporation,
an international firm providing fire protection
engineer, consulting, contracting, and compliance
services. He is a graduate of the University of Nevada,
Las Vegas, holds a Level IV certification from
NICET in Fire Sprinkler Layout, and is a Certified
Fire Protection Specialist. He is a licensed
contractor and has 31 years of experience in the
design, installation, and testing of fire protection
systems. He currently serves as a principle on
the Technical Correlating Committee on Automatic
Sprinkler Systems, the NFPA 25 Technical
Committee, the Technical Committee for the Commissioning
and Integrated Testing of Fire Protection Systems
(NFPA 3 and 4), and the NFPA 5000 (building code)
Technical Correlating Committee. In addition, he serves
as an alternate on the Installation Technical
Committee for NFPA 13. He has
authored a number of articles and training materials
including the AFSA Study Guide for NICET Certification
on Inspections & Testing, the AFSA online hydraulics
courses, and the NFPA Professional Development
series. In addition, he is a major contributor
for the 2011 NFPA 25 Handbook. Russ
is a member of NFPA and SFPE.
