Join us for a webinar to learn about what types of chemical products may be incompatible with CPVC pipe and fittings and what type of issues may arise due to incompatibility.

This webinar will define what compatibility and incompatibility is as it pertains to CPVC fire sprinkler systems. It will explain how chemical effects on the plastic material can be measured and how compatibility can be determined. The presentation will also discuss what other factors may contribute to chemically-induced cracking of CPVC and what compatibility resources are available.  

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this webinar attendees will be able to:
1.    Define compatibility and incompatibility as it pertains to CPVC fire sprinkler
2.    Identify what types of chemical products may be incompatible with CPVC
       pipe and fittings

3.    Identify what other factors may contribute to chemically-induced cracking
       of CPVC


Michelle Knight
Michelle Knight is a scientist in the CPVC research and development department at Lubrizol. She holds degrees in both chemistry and chemical engineering from Purdue University. She has over 30 years of experience in materials testing and failure analysis of CPVC pipe and fittings used in fire sprinkler, industrial chemical, and potable water distribution applications. Ms. Knight has presented papers on failure analysis, compatibility and performance of CPVC piping systems at various national organizations for fire sprinkler, plumbing and industrial piping applications.
