Webinar: NFPA 13, 2019 Ed. Part 2: Seismic Bracing Update
Join us for a webinar on the seismic bracing update to the 2019 edition of NFPA 13, Standard for the Installation of Sprinkler Systems.

The 2019 edition of NFPA 13 will contain significant revisions regarding hardware and fasteners as well as other changes to the process of providing protection of fire sprinkler systems from seismic events.  Along with other sections of the standard, the provisions for seismic protection have been relocated.  All of the information and requirements formerly in section 9.3 are contained in chapter 18. This webinar will highlight and explain some of the changes, as well as provide a refresher for some of the requirements and omissions permitted. 

This webinar is part 2 in a 4-part series on the 2019 edition of NFPA 13. Part 3 will be on storage and part 4 will be on attics and concealed spaces. More details coming soon!

Ken Wagoner, CFPE, CFPS, SET 
Ken is a 1977 graduate of Bethany College (KS), and owner of Parsley Consulting, located in Escondido, CA.  He has 38 years of experience in automatic sprinkler system and fire alarm system design, plan review, and construction management. He is an AFSA-designated alternate representative to the NFPA 1031 Committee (Professional Qualifications for Fire Inspectors and Plan Reviewers), and principal member of the Hanging and Bracing Committee of NFPA 13 and the NFPA 24 committee (Standard for the Installation of Private Fire Service Mains).  He has published numerous articles on seismic bracing, hydraulic calculations, system design and the plan review process; has presented online virtual seminars, and teaches classes sponsored by the San Diego Fire Protection Association and the American Fire Sprinkler Association. He is an active member of NFPA, AFSA, FSCASC, and SDFPA.
