The experience of the Technical Services Department makes them an excellent resource for answering questions on the codes and standards. With a professional engineer and two senior engineering technicians, they have over 80 years of combined experience in contracting, enforcement, consulting, and user application.
This experience is augmented by AFSA staff being members of 17 NFPA technical committees. When combined with the 31 member representatives, AFSA participants on 27 NFPA technical committees. This provides the opportunity to better understand the intent of the installation standards that drive our industry. A lot of effort is invested in modifying these standards to address issues of concern to the contractor.
