Q.How do I renew my fitter certification?

A.CAL FIRE has created this video to show steps for renewal: Video

Q.I forget which email I used to register my Govmotus account. What do I do?

A.It’s important to use the initial email you used to create your Govmotus account. If you select ‘forgot password’ but used the wrong email, it is likely your password will not successfully reset. If you have to change your email address from the one first used, it will require creation of a new Govmotus account. You’ll need to contact one of the CAL FIRE coordinators listed below.

Q.I sometimes see errors or glitches in my Govmotus account. What’s going on?

A.The preferred web browser when using Govmotus is Google Chrome. First, use Chrome to access your Govmotus account to see if that corrects the issue. If you experience further issues, report them in detail to either of the following CAL FIRE coordinators:

CAL FIRE Coordinators
Elena Rich
Kemiko Tolon

Q.How do I upload the CEU hours I’ve earned into my Govmotus account?

A.At this time, Govmotus will only allow for upload of CEU certificates to your account during the renewal period, which is March 1 – June 30.

Q.How do I find out how many CEU hours I’ve earned, or how many hours I still need to earn?

A.It is important for you to track your training hours for your fitter certification renewal. You may likely receive training hours from multiple providers. These providers will only have information on training they provide, not what others have provided to you. That is why it is ultimately your responsibility to track your CEU hours for your renewal.

Q.How do I find the CEUs I’ve earned specifically from AFSA?

A.CEUs earned from AFSA will be displayed in your AFSA account. When you login to your AFSA account, access your member profile, then select CEU Credits tab to view a transcript of all CEUs earned. Also, you can select CEU Certificates tab to download/print individual completion certificates for CEUs earned from AFSA. This will not include CEUs earned from other training providers, including AFSA California chapters. For that, you must contact the training provider directly.

Q.Can I take the same course twice and still earn the hours?

A.A course cannot be repeated within the 3-year CEU renewal period.

Q.How do I find CAL FIRE approved courses to count toward my renewal?

AFSA Greater Bay Area Chapter
AFSA Sacramento Valley Chapter
AFSA San Diego Chapter
